'It's something that I'm going to address after the season's finished' - Mark Wilson delays decision on his future

England Newcastle Falcons flanker Mark Wilson insists he will wait until the end of the season to make his final decision on his future.

Wilson recently signed a new four-year deal with Newcastle Falcons but he could be tempted to leave Kingston Park if Newcastle fail to pull off the 'Great Escape' and avoid relegation with just three games remaining in the season.

Relegation could spell the end of Wilson's test ambious post the Rugby World Cup and an unfavourable result this weekend against Leicester Tigers could see Falcons fall to the Championship next year.

Potential suitors for Wilson are starting to finalise their recruitment but the 29-year-old revealed to Nik Simon at the Daily Mail that so far he is refusing to play his hand and look elsewhere.

'It's something that I'm going to address after the season's finished,' said Wilson

'I'm very much a Newcastle Falcons player and I'm contracted here for the next four years. That's what I want it to be. This is where I belong. I want to focus on the next few weeks and give our best shot to stay in this league. People have written us off but we've still got three big games to go - then I'll address things.'

Wilson is not the only Falcons player facing a tough decision with the likes of Simon Hammersley, Sinoti Sinoti and Vereniki Goneva likely to look elsewhere if they do get relegated. Hammersley has impressed this season and could be on the fringes of the England squad while the skillset of Goneva and Sinoti likely to draw interest around Europe with the former's contract also expiring at the end of the season.
