Bank of Ireland and Leinster Rugby Announce Five-Year Contract Extension
Bank of Ireland today announced a five-year extension of its sponsorship of Leinster Rugby, including title sponsorship of both the men’s and women’s senior teams, to run until 2028.
The Bank has a long association with the province dating back to 2007, and today’s announcement reaffirms the Bank’s commitment to the game across all levels of the game in the 12 counties of Leinster.
The enhanced sponsorship agreement, building on the recently announced national partnership with the Irish Rugby Football Union, will see Bank of Ireland extend its support for both the Leinster men’s and women’s teams, as well as the schools and clubs competitions across the age grades in Leinster, including the prestigious Schools Senior and Junior Cups and the Provincial Towns Cup.
The new sponsorship agreement represents the most comprehensive sponsorship of men’s and women’s sport in Ireland.
It will see Bank of Ireland deepen its support for Leinster Rugby, representing a significant investment by the Bank in ensuring that rugby continues to thrive in the 73 clubs and the hundreds of schools that participate in the game across Leinster.
Speaking at the official launch of the Leinster Rugby sponsorship extension, Laura Lynch, Bank of Ireland Chief Marketing Officer said: "Bank of Ireland’s commitment to supporting Leinster Rugby has steadily grown since we first partnered with them in 2007, and we are thrilled to extend our sponsorship with them for another five years. We have enjoyed a number of memorable days with the boys and girls in blue over the past number of years.
"Through our sponsorship we aim to support the growth and development of the game, building on existing successes and ensuring that players from all over the island of Ireland, from local schools and clubs all the way up to  the men’s and women’s provincial and national sides have every opportunity to #neverstopcompeting."
Shane Nolan, CEO of Leinster Rugby said; "Leinster Rugby is delighted to continue our partnership with Bank of Ireland. The Bank has been a strong supporter of Leinster Rugby since this partnership first began in 2007.
The foundation of Leinster Rugby is rooted in our communities, and in the clubs and the schools that make up those communities. The work that our rugby officers and development officers do across the 12 counties of Leinster would simply not be possible without this level of support from Bank of Ireland.
With Bank of Ireland’s continued support for our organisation, from our clubs and schools right through to our Senior Men's and Women's teams, we look forward to further accelerating the growth and development of Leinster Rugby in the coming years."
