Connacht knew about police interest in Mils Muliaina before match

Mils Muliaina's Irish rugby team Connacht were aware South Wales Police wanted to speak to the former All Black about an alleged sexual assault before he took to the field in last Saturday's match against Gloucester.

In a statement issued today Connacht say they only "became aware of South Wales Police's desire to speak with Mils immediately prior to kick off in Gloucester at which point details of the nature of their enquiry were not made available to us," reports the Irish Independent.
