Dave Ward re-signs for Harlequins

Harlequins have annouced that Dave Ward has committed his long-term future to the club.

Ward joined the club in 2012 and has become an instrumental member of the squad in 115 senior appearances.

Confirming the news, the 31-year old said “When John [Kingston] first approached me about extending my time at Harlequins it was a no brainer for me. This club has become home and I love it.

“Harlequins is really ambitious, and so am I.  To be able to continue to work with this coaching set up, and the players within the group, fills me with excitement.

In recent seasons Ward has shown his excellent versatility, seamlessly transitioning between the roles of hooker and openside flanker.

His leadership qualities have also come to the fore this season captaining Harlequins in the Aviva Premiership, and to the semi-finals of the Anglo-Welsh Cup.
