Four players commit to Bristol

Bristol Rugby have confirmed the signing of four English qualified players for the 2017/18 season.

Jason Harris-Wright will return to Bristol following a successful stint with London Irish, while back rower Nick Haining joins from Jersey Reds.

Harlequins tighthead prop, Tyler Gendall and scrum-half Reiss Cullen also signed with the club.

Harris-Wright won a European Champions Cup medal with Leinster and a Pro 12 title with Connacht.

Nick Haining is a versatile forward who can play across the back row and has been one of Jersey Reds stand-out performers this season.

22-year-old Gendall made over 50 appearances for Cornish Pirates and joined Harlequins on a short-term deal in January.

Reiss Cullen,22, has signed his first professional contract with Bristol after he impressed the Bristol recruitment team.

“We’re pleased to bolster our options with these talented young players. Tyler [Gendall] caught the eye with his performances for Harlequins in the second part of the Premiership season, while Nick [Haining] has been one of the standout performers in the Championship for Jersey,” Head Coach Mark Tainton said

“Jason [Harris-Wright] is a physical, abrasive hooker who showed his quality under Pat [Lam] at Connacht. At 28 years of age, he fits the bill for what we are looking for and provides competition in the front row.

“Reiss [Cullen] is a livewire of a scrum half who we’ve been really impressed by. He’s a young man who is hungry to make a name for himself in the professional game.”
