Michael Cheika sets interest on Quade Cooper's return to Australia

Cheika was plain when asked if he was interested in Cooper's return, saying he had been actively chasing the 28-year-old, who was left stranded on 58 Tests after the World Cup.

"I've been doing more than endorsing it... I've been out there trying to get him back. I think for many years, players left Australia and we just said 'you're gone now. See you later'," Cheika said. 

 
Queensland Rugby executive general manager Daniel Herbert confirmed the Reds would love to see Cooper back at Ballymore. He said he had long been a supporter of the enigmatic number 10 and would love to have him as part of what looks to be a top-line rebuild.


Munster confirm Jacques Nienaber signing



 Munster have confirmed that Jacques Nienaber will join the province as defence coach ahead of next season.

Nienaber is currently in charge of South Africa’s defence for the Test series against Ireland, and will join Munster on 1 July.


Wallabies' George Smith signs for Queensland Reds


 Smith to a two-season Super Rugby deal.

The 35-year-old Smith will join the Reds for the 2017 and 2018 campaigns, while also playing for Suntory Sungoliath in Japan’s Top League.

  Scotland U20s' Hutchinson and Graham ruled out of Championship


 Darcy Graham and experienced midfield player, Rory Hutchinson, have been ruled out for the rest of the Championship as a result of injuries sustained against the junior Wallabies.
