ARU confirm duo: The Australian Rugby Union have today confirmed that both Stephen Larkham and Nathan Grey have joined the Wallabies coaching ticket as assistants. Currently holding the position of head coach at the ACT Brumbies, Larkham will continue in his role with the Canberra based outfit and will join Michael Cheika’s coaching staff for the 2015 Test Season. Regarded as one of the finest players ever to pull on the Green and Gold Jersey of Australia, Larkham has had a seamless transition into coaching and has been head coach at the Brumbies since 2014. Meanwhile, Nathan Grey, current defence coach with reigning Super Rugby champions the New South Wales Waratahs, will also link up with Cheika ahead of the 2015 season. Having previously been involved on the 2014 Spring Tour to European shores, Grey knows full well what will be expected of him on the international scene and the former Wallaby centre is highly valued by Cheika. Like Larkham, Grey will continue in his role domestically with the Waratahs. Elsewhere, the ARU have also announced a new Team Operations Manager in the form of Simon Roberts, along with a new Wallabies Team Manger in Patrick Molihan. With experience across a range of sporting bodies, both appointments will bring a wealth of knowledge to the setup ahead of a crucial year for the Wallabies.

Injury woe for Warriors: Glasgow Warriors fans are waking to some bad news this morning, as it emerges that flanker Tyrone Holmes has sustained a troublesome injury to his right knee. Picked up during his side’s victory over the Ospreys at Scotstoun last weekend, Holmes has since undergone a string of comprehensive MRI scans at BMI Ross Hall Hospital. Under the consultation of Mr Colin Walker, it has been confirmed that Holmes has done medial collateral ligament damage and is likely to be out for the coming months. While the Warriors hold hopes that Holmes will return before the season’s end. it seems unlikely at this stage, having just commenced his period of recovery.
