Lee Byrne ‘frustrated’ as career is ended by shoulder injury


Lee Byrne, the former Wales and Lions full back, has been forced into
retirement after admitting defeat in his battle to overcome a shoulder
injury.



The 34-year-old underwent surgery in November on the muscle tear he suffered
against Newcastle Falcons in the European Challenge Cup, only six matches
into his stint with Newport Gwent Dragons.

Initially it was hoped that the
former Scarlets, Ospreys and Clermont Auvergne player would return in the
spring, but he now faces an uncertain future.
