It was a weekend of Cup finals in Europe as attention turned to London and Twickenham, with the first ever European Rugby Champions Cup and Challenge Cup Finals taking place as Toulon went for a historic third title in a row.
Saturday’s triumph was the perfect send off for Toulon’s bank of veterans, including legendary Springbok lock Bakkies Botha as the former Bulls stalwart scooped up his third European winners’ medal to go with his three from Super Rugby.
