Hogg dismisses Scotland criticism

Stuart Hogg has dismissed criticism that his side have gone backwards since the World Cup.

Scotland suffered a 9-15 home defeat to England on Saturday, but Hogg is adament his side are on the right path.

“The high of the World Cup we had is in the past now.

“We will continue to learn and work hard on the training pitch.

“Getting a win first up would have done wonders for everybody but unfortunately that’s not the case.

“Again, though, we will knuckle down, work hard and see what happens next week.

“Obviously the boys are really disappointed but you can’t dwell on it too much. We have got to keep our heads up.”

Wales sweat on Dan Biggar fitness

Fly-half Dan Biggar is a major doubt for Wales' Six Nations clash against Scotland in Cardiff on Saturday after limping off against Ireland.

The Ospreys man seemed to take a knock in the first moments of the game after a clash with Robbie Henshaw.

Rhys Priestland deputised for almost an hour of their draw in Dublin.

Wales coach Warren Gatland said: "It looks like he's got a sprain quite high up on the ankle. We'll know a bit more in the next 24-48 hours.

"I though Rhys has done pretty well when he's come on and we were happy with his performance," he said.

"Whether it's got to be scanned or not I don't know. It's difficult to make those assessments an hour after the game," he added.
