Most consecutive wins in international rugby

5. Wales (11 wins)

Wales most successful period started in March 1907 with a victory over Ireland. The victory was followed by a further 11 successful matches until an encounter against France in 1910 brought the Welsh to their knees.

The defeat marked their first loss in 3 years.

4. Brazil (13 wins)

Although ranked only 28th in the World Rugby rankings, Brazil has enjoyed 13 straight matches without a loss between October 2006 - 2008.

Trinidad proved too strong for the Brazilians, ending their 2-year tenure at Sao Jose dos Campos Grounds.

3. England (14 wins)

In March 2002, England claimed victory against Wales at Twickenham, a clash that saw the beginning of a winning attitude.

They went on to bulldoze their way through 14 opponents, snatching victory each time.

England went on to lose against Wales in August 2003 after 14 successful matches.

2. Lithuania (17 wins)

The team's strongest period would be from October 2008 where they defeated Norway and went on to enjoy an impressive 17 straight wins.

Although they possess great skill, the team has yet to qualify for the Rugby World Cup.

2. South Africa (17 wins)

The Springboks opened their victory flood gates against Australia in August 1997, an intense match that saw the South Africans enjoy a further 17 uninterrupted victories.

It was their defeat against Ireland in November 1998 in Pretoria that ended their one-year reign after 17 successful matches.

2. New Zealand (17 wins)

The All Blacks have always been undoubted giants on the field, but it was their win against South Africa in September 1965 that started a chain reaction of consecutive victories for the New Zealanders.

They enjoyed a 3-year defeat-free period until coming down to Wales in 1969 in Auckland after 17 back-to-back victories.

47 years after the triumphant period, the All Blacks jumped back on the wagon in June 2013, with their first of many victories coming against France.

In June 2014, New Zealand went on to the field to increase their 17 back-to-back victories record, but tied scores with Australia 12-12.

1. Cyprus (24 wins)

Cyprus hold the world record for the most consecutive international rugby union wins with 24.

They went on undefeated for 6 years, winning 28 of their 30 games between November 2008 - 2014.

Despite this achievement, Cyprus is ranked 55th on the World Rugby rankings.
