Pienaar's Rugby Championship over

South Africa scrum-half Ruan Pienaar has been ruled out for six to eight weeks with a medial knee ligament injury.


Pienaar was injured in a collision with team-mate Duane Vermeulen in the Springboks' 14-10 loss to New Zealand in Wellington.

The accident caused Pienaar obvious discomfort, with the Ulster scrum-half carried from the field.

According to reports he will now play no further part in the tournament, opening the door for Francois Hougaard and possibly Cobus Reinach.
