Premiership Salary Cap Rises To £5.5m

The salary cap in the Aviva Premiership will rise again next season by £500,000 to £5.5m, with clubs also able to name a second marquee player.
The current basic salary limit stands at £4.76m and will rise to £5.1m, with academy credits increasing from £240,000 to £400,000.
Clubs will also be able to name a second player whose wages are excluded from the cap, as long as they arrive from outside the Premiership.
The £400,000 in academy credits will cover players who are under the age of 24, who joined the club before their 18th birthday and are earning more than £30k a year.
