Robshaw on his decision
England captain Chris Robshaw revealed the thought process between himself and the team’s kickers after turning down a potential score-tying kick against Wales.

The Rugby World Cup host went on to lose in dramatic fashion, in a major setback of their hopes to win the tournament.

"That call comes down to myself. I spoke to the kickers on the pitch and we decided we wanted to go for the win," Robshaw said.

"It was a tough kick, we weighed up the options, and the two driving mauls before we made some good ground. We thought if we got in that position we could go for the win.

"If it's an easier kick then you look at different options, but it wasn't.

"Now it's about the reaction and the character of the squad. It hurts like hell at the moment. We feel we've let a lot of people down today and the people who have come to support us.

"It's about what happens next and a huge game against Australia. We'll be pretty gutted and devastated tonight but you have to move on pretty quickly.

"The crowd gave us a huge lift with the number of white shirts there. We feel we let them down today, we let a lot of people down, and we didn't finish the game out how we wanted to.

"This is where we find out what we're about.”
