Sam Vesty added to England coaching staff

England head coach Eddie Jones has appointed Sam Vesty as the new England’s skills coach for their upcoming two-Test series against Argentina.

Vesty is currently the backs coach at Premiership side Worcester Warriors, will join the senior squad on the two-week tour in place of Rory Teague, who has joined Bourdeaux-Begles.

During his playing day Vesty made 228 appearances during his stints at Leicester Tigers and Bath Rugby.

The 35-year-old helped steer Worcester Cavaliers to the Aviva A League final for the very first time in the 2014/15 season, while also playing a big role in helping a young Warriors side reach the latter stages of the British & Irish Cup.

Capped at under 18 and under 21 level respectively, he also made two senior appearances for England – both against Argentina – in 2009.

England head coach Eddie Jones said: "I was impressed by how Worcester attack. He interviewed very well. He's got a nice feel for the game and I think he can add to us and help us with the attack."
