Jones to retire: Ospreys prop and former Wales international Duncan Jones has announced his retirement from playing rugby due to a foot injury he suffered this year. The 36-year-old has played a record 223 games for the Ospreys and ends a career that goes back 18 years. He has opted to hang up his boots after suffering a foot injury earlier this year that has been restricting his ability to train and has caused problems on the pitch. "I'm really disappointed that I've had to make this decision at such an exciting time for the Ospreys," he told the Ospreys website." I had hoped that I could maybe stick around a little bit longer to help some of the youngsters who'll still be involved during the world cup, but unfortunately that’s not to be," he added.
Gloucester win Challenge Cup: Gloucester managed to claim the Challenge Cup last night at the Stoop with an edgy 19-13 win. The Premiership side dominated for 60 minutes of the game with Laidlaw kicking 4 penalties and Billy Twelvetrees going over, however the game changed on it's head when Bill Meakes was sent off for a high tackle off the ball. Edinburgh came back through Ross Ford giving the Scottish side hope, but Gloucester held on and claimed their 2nd Challenge Cup.
