Sunday Round-Up
Marler out for season: England prop Joe Marler has been ruled out for the rest of the season but will be fit for the World Cup according to Conor O'Shea. Marler was withdrawn from the side against Sale with a shoulder injury and could need surgery. Marler apparently suffered the injury during the 6 Nations and played through injury for Quins but with no improvement on the injury he will sit out the rest of the season. Lancaster will be hoping that he will be fit for the World Cup, with Marler establishing himself as starting loosehead prop for England in the last few years.

Prior suspended: Western Force scrum half Ian Prior has been handed a 3 week ban for a dangerous tackle. The incident occured in the Force's 35-27 loss to the Cheifs last week when Prior was handed a red card for the offence. Prior is set to be banned up until the 17th of May and will miss the clas with the Blues and the Waraths in the coming weeks. SANZAR judicial officer Nigel Hampton assessed the case and had this to say about the incident, "Lifting tackles have been sought to be eliminated from the game and yet still remain. I added a week to the suspension as a deterrent. Mitigating factors that I took into account include the player's good record, his shame at letting his teammates down during the match and his early acceptance of guilt and genuine contrition for his actions. As a result of these factors, I reduced the suspension to three weeks which was accepted by the player."
