Saints defeat Tigers

Northampton Saints returned to the top of the Aviva Premiership after a hard fought 23-19 win over Leicester Tigers. This will go down as a huge win for the Saints come the end of the season as they were able to pick up a win despite having 14 players on the pitch for most of the game after Dylan Hartley was sent off for lashing out at Matt Smith. With the Saints missing a player for nearly the entire game with Hartley sent off in the 17th minutes Leicester were able to take advantage and as we entered into the final few minutes they had a 19-16 lead however the Saints are not champions for nothing and they were able to secure the win late on with Jamie Elliot scoring going over late on in a try that made sure the Saints returned to the top of the table as they go in search of back to back titles. As for the Tigers they remain in 6th place after an inconsistent start to the season as Stuart Cockerill looks to bring back the glory days at Leicester after a few trophyless seasons.

Nonu and Nalaga set for Toulon

Toulon have announced that they will be adding two powerhouses of Rugby to their squad next season with Ma’a Nonu and Nalaga being confirmed as Toulon players for next season. Nonu’s move to the French side will comes as no shock with the move being talked about for the last few months with the owner of Toulon claiming that this will be the first of many transfers for next season as he looks to sign other stars from the southern hemisphere when the World Cup is finished next November. People will talk about Nonu more than Nalaga but the Fijian will turn out to be a major coup as he trades the Stade Michelin for the Stade Felix Mayol. These will be two big signings for Toulon with many more to be confirmed in the next few weeks.
