Taranaki defeated Southland 41 - 19 in their ITM Cup encounter in New Plymouth.
Taranaki picked up their third consecutive victory proving firming up their standings in the top four.
They got off to a sluggish start with the Stags putting on plenty of early pressure.
However once Taranaki found their feet they were able to establish a lead that they never really look like surrendering.
Naki's James Broadhurst powered through a mountain of work and was reward with the team's sixth try with an individual 80 metre effort.
