Dan Leavy

After coming off the bench in place of Dominic Ryan, Leavy has caused huge problems for Cullen with regards to selection moving forward after picking up the Man of the Match award tonight. The flanker made an instant impact, poaching loose ball and breaking to Edinburgh's line to set up Daly's opening try. As the fixture progressed, Leavy made some key plays, including a huge penalty on his own line to deny Edinburgh after the visitors had managed over 27 phases. The versatile back rower continued to shine as he powered through Edinburgh's defense with ease off the back of a maul for a try of his own. With a number of Leinster players playing out of position tonight, the stability brought by Leavy was vital.

Joey Carbery

Carbery came back from injury with a bang in Leinster's encounter against Edinburgh. Operating from outhalf, Carbery was constantly looking to run the ball, raising the tempo as he carried to the line with every opportunity. After the break, the Irish international reaped his rewards for his hard work, as he crossed the whitewash twice as well as playing an integral part in several of his side's scores throughout the night. Questions could be raised as to why kicking duties were taken off Carbery when Ross Byrne entered the game, having slotted 1/2 attempts, with the miss coming right out at the touchline, while Byrne's kicking from the tee was below his usual standards, making 3/5.

Billy Burns

Billy Burns put in a stand out performance in an overall spectacular team effort by Gloucester tonight. He dictated the pace of the game masterfully, knowing when to kick and when to run. Time and time again he pinned Saracens deep inside their own half with some excellent touch kicking. He was impeccable from the tee slotting all five of his opportunities. It was unfortunate to see him go off with a potentially serious injury but he can be immensely proud of his performance tonight and we hope to see him back in the red and white of Gloucester soon.
