Top 5 performers of the night

Great night of rugby to get the weekend kick started!

Rory Scannell

Scannell impressed in Munster's dramatic come back against Ulster at the Kingspan Stadium. The centre put in a Man of the Match performance as he led from the front, making several huge carries. Scannell was the man to go over for Munster on the brink of half time, which was the catalyst for their come back. In the second half, the centre took over kicking duties before slotting a vital conversion, and sealing the Irish province's victory with a well struck drop goal.

Rory Hughes

Hughes had an exceptional performance in Glasgow's dismantling of Treviso. The winger showed his ability as he pierced Treviso's defensive line with ease before touching down for his first try. Hughes also displayed his impressive support play as he tracked Hogg's break very well to collect a superb offload and dot down for his second of the night.

Jacob Rowan

Despite being on the losing end of Gloucester's encounter with Northampton, Rowan put in a superb shift for his side. The flanker worked tirelessly for Gloucester from start to finish, putting in some huge hits in the process. As the momentum began to shift Northampton's way, it was Rowan that managed the break the Saints' defense and secure the visitor's opening try.

Louis Picamoles

Picamoles shone for Northampton in their narrow victory against Gloucester. The big no. 8 continued his impressive form, as he crashed over for the opening try. Picamoles' offloading game was on full display, making a total of 10, one of which created Kessell's try. The Frenchman made a massive 17 carries today, earning Man of the Match in the process.

Carlo Canna

Canna was the key man for Zebre in their shock victory away from home against Edinburgh. The outhalf was the catalyst for Zebre's fine performance, ensuring that his side's lead remained intact, gradually increasing it through his reliable kicking from the tee. Canna slotted 3 in the opening half to give his side a 9 point lead, before going on to score 5/7.
