Top 5 performers of the weekend

Paddy Jackson

The Ulster fly-half led the Ulster men to a fantastic win against Glasgow. The Ireland international showed he is solid in defence with a strong performance against Glasgow. He scored three of four kicks from the tee. In the coming months the battle for the Ireland number 10 jersey should make for interesting viewing.

Mike Williams

The big back row had an excellent performance for the Tigers which helped them secure their first home win of the season. Williams seemed to cover every blade of grass on the field as he tackled everything in sight. Williams was at the heart of what was an outstanding performance by Leicester.

Josh Van Der Flier

The young back row had a point to prove against Ospreys after he started on the bench the week before against Edinburgh. Van Der Flier came out of the blocks firing and gave Leinster their first try of the night 19 minutes in, he then got a second shortly after the break to give Leinster the bonus point. Leo Cullen may have some headaches next week on whether he goes with Leavy or Van Der Flier next week.

Gareth Steenson

The number 10 punished a weak Bristol defence by leading the Exeter charge which saw them get 5 tries securing a bonus point win. Steenson kicked 7/7 from the tee which added to their huge scoreline. It was a classy performance from the Exeter man.

Thomas Waldrom

Waldrom got two tries in Exeter's win over Bristol. Waldrom's experience showed as he led from the front with a physical performance for the Chiefs. The big number 8 had a classic Waldrom finish for his first try as he peeled from the back of a rolling mall. His second came just 12 minutes later again off the set piece. No doubt he will be delighted with what was a fantastic performance.
