Vern Cotter will examine form book before selecting Scotland side

Scotland’s players have been challenged to prove they are good enough to deserve a tilt at the world champions in November.

As Vern Cotter, the national head coach, prepares for his first go at coaching the team at Murrayfield, he promises past achievements are irrelevant; he will be picking on form.

Scotland play Argentina on November 8 before they face the challenge of New Zealand the following weekend and complete their autumn international schedule by hosting Tonga at Rugby Park the week after that.
