Warren Whiteley ruled out for 6-8 weeks with injury
Springbok and Lions captain Warren Whiteley has been ruled out for 6-8 weeks with a torn ligament in his pelvis.
He was withdrawn from the Boks' third Test against France on Saturday after aggravating his groin strain during a lineout session on Thursday.
The 29-year-old had scans yesterday and it was confirmed that he does not require surgery at this stage.
Whiteley is therefore likely miss the remainder of the Super Rugby season and possibly the start of the Rugby Championship.
