Which of these players should be awarded the 6 Nations player of the tournament

Paul O’Connell

In what could be his last 6 Nations tournament, Paul O’Connell had an outstanding championship. The Munster lock led by example in all five games in particular against Wales and Scotland where he was a man on a mission putting in tackle after tackle while also becoming one of Ireland’s biggest ball carriers which is something we haven't seen very often during his career. His try against Scotland was the start of Ireland’s impressive win at Murrayfield with Ireland in the end securing the championship.

Rhys Webb

In what was his first 6 Nations campaign as Wales first choice Scrum Half, Webb was one of Wales stand out players. He finished the tournament with three tries and an assist and was a constant threat in the Welsh side.

Jonathan Joseph

What a magnificent 6 Nations campaign for Joseph. The Bath centre scored four tries in five games and Manu Tuilagi will now find it hard to get his place back in the side. His blistering pace caused defences problems all throughout the tournament and he is deserving of finishing as the tournaments top try scorer.

Robbie Henshaw

What a bright international future this young man has ahead of him after an impressive first 6 Nations campaign. The Connacht centre was impressive in defence while also dangerous in attack and was near the top of the stats with the amount of carries throughout the tournament. He will also be delighted to have scored his first try for Ireland against the old enemy that is England.

George Ford

With Owen Farrell missing the tournament through injury, Ford was given the opportunity as England’s first choice flyhalf and he took his chance with an impressive championship. Anything good England did he was part of it providing many tries while also scoring two tries of his own.

Alun Wyn Jones

Like a fine wine Alun Wyn Jones seems to be getting better with age. He is a great leader for Wales while also being prolific in the lineout. Despite Wales having so many try scorers in the Italy game Jones was awarded man of the match after another impressive performance.

Stuart Hogg

It seems rather unlikely that he will be awarded the 6 Nations player of the tournament after losing five out of five games for Scotland but Stuart Hogg was one of the best players in this years championship. He made more metres than other player and can count himself unlucky to have been involved with a Scottish side that ended up with the wooden spoon.

Sam Warburton

Warburton will be bitterly disappointed not have been lifting the Six Nations trophy but he will be more than delighted with his performances in this years championship. He put his body on the line in each of the five games and was impressive at the breakdown winning his side plenty of turnovers.
