Born in Le Pont-de-Claix, near Grenoble, France, Capuozzo is of mixed heritage. His father is of Italian descent, with his paternal grandparents coming from the Naples area. His maternal grandfather is Malagasy, and his maternal grandmother is French.

Capuozzo began his rugby career in his hometown and joined the youth system of Grenoble, a professional club, in 2010. He made his senior debut for Grenoble in May 2019, playing one game in the 2018-19 Top 14 season. He scored his first try for Grenoble in December 2019 during the 2019-20 Pro D2 season. In the following season, he became the top try-scorer in the Pro D2, scoring 10 tries in 21 games.

In May 2022, Capuozzo signed a three-year contract with Toulouse, one of the top clubs in the French Top 14. He made his debut for Toulouse in September 2022 and scored his first try for the club as a wing in a match against Racing 92. In January 2023, he scored a brace (two tries) in a match against Montpellier.

Despite being born and raised in France and being eligible to represent the French national team, Capuozzo chose to play for Italy. He qualified for the Italian national team through his paternal grandparents. He represented Italy at the U20 level in the 2019 World Rugby Under 20 Championship, scoring two tries in five games.

Capuozzo received his first senior call-up for Italy in January 2022, for the 2022 Six Nations Championship. In his debut match against Scotland, he scored two tries in just 35 minutes of play. He went on to start as the full-back in Italy's historic win against Wales, ending a long losing streak in the Six Nations Championship. Capuozzo was named the 2022 World Rugby Men's 15s Breakthrough Player of the Year at the World Rugby Awards.

In 2023, Capuozzo was selected for Italy's Six Nations squad and scored a try in the opening defeat against France.

Capuozzo's impressive performances have drawn the interest of Top 14 clubs, including Toulouse, leading to his signing with the club in 2022. Known for his speed and agility, Capuozzo is a talented outside back with the ability to make a significant impact on the field.

Ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023, Capuozzo has been named in the squad for Italy.
