Mamuka Gorgodze

Captain Gorgodze impressed everyone when he led Georgia to a 17-10 victory over Tonga. The Toulon back row played a Man of the Match performance, making an outrageous 24 tackles. Gorgodze was without a doubt the catalyst for this upset victory, scoring the opening try of the fixture.

Johnny Sexton

Sexton took control of Ireland's opening fixture against Canada, making some exceptional kicks to further Ireland's lead. Sexton scored 14 points, which can be broken down to 1 try, 1 kick at goal and 3 conversions. His performance earned him the title of Man of the Match.

Corey Allen

Corey Allen got his World Cup campaign off to a blistering start against Uruguay. The centre scored an amazing hat-trick within the first 40 minutes of the game, helping to secure the bonus point for his country and take them top of their group. As well as impressing in attack, Allen had a 100% tackle success rate in defense. Unfortunately, the centre is set to miss the rest of the World Cup after picking up a hamstring injury in the second half.

Mike Brown

Mike Brown picked up Man of the Match in England's opening fixture of the 2015 RWC after scoring 2 key tries in their 35-11 victory against Fiji. The fullback had an outstanding game, gaining a massive 191 metres and beating 11 defenders in attack. Brown proved to be a solid rock as England's last line of defense, with a 100% tackle success rate.

Michael Leitch

Leitch led Japan to a historic 34-32 victory over South in what could be the biggest upset ever in the Rugby World Cup. The big back row made an impressive 19 carries, scoring his nation's first RWC try in the process. Leitch also provided great cover in defense, making 12/12 tackles. A lot will be asked of Leitch and his nation after that opening performance.
