Champions Cup Final In Doubt After Racing 92 players test positive for Covid-19

Racing 92 has confirmed that several players have tested positive for Covid-19 with the final at Ashton Gate against Exeter Chiefs just over two weeks away.

The club confirmed the positive statements via Twitter on Thursday, it read: “Tests carried out on the entire professional group on Wednesday morning revealed several positive cases. We are now awaiting the recommendations of the Ligue National Rugby, which we will apply with all the necessary rigour.”

The LNR have since confirmed that Racing's fixture against La Rochelle has been postponed following the news from Paris.

 

The news from France now puts the Champions Cup Final under threat with the match scheduled for just 16 days away.


With the Paris region on high alert again following recent surge in the pandemic, Racing have now been caught up in the renewed spread, according to Midi Olympique.
