Match Report: Brilliant Bristol punish poor Saints

Bristol returned to their brilliant best and back into second spot with a rampant win over a poor Northampton side.

Bristol scored seven brilliant tries to Northamptons one, in what was a very one sided game, where Bristol probabaly should've scored more.

Bristol attacked with pace, flair and precision. They nearly scored after Piutau got on the end of Radradra's kick but TMO ruled the ball touched the line.

Bristol got off to a flying start, but it was the Saints who opened the scoring with a penalty after 3 minutes.


That would be the last points for Saints in the first half as Bristol completly dominated from that point.

Bristol didn't have to wait much long to get their opening try as Thacker scored from a rolling maul. Sheedy added the extras.


Leiua scored fove minutes later after another maul came donw short of the line, Sheedy finding Leiua  for an easy run in. Sheedy added the extra.

Bristol got their third just four minutes later, as Earl broke the line before finding Uren in support. Sheedy added the easy extras.

That would be it for the first half, as Bristol pressed and pressed but were their own worst enemy as they couldn't finish chances created.

The second half started well for Saints as they had Bristol on their try line for the next 15 minutes before being rewarded wih a try to Gillespie. Grayson added the extras.

Bristol eventually woke up in the second half as they finally scored their bonus point try in the 62nd minute. Vui finishing in the corner. Sheedy missed the conversion.

Bristol ran riot after that try as Earl then scored two minutes later, and then O Conor scored straight off the kick off .

3 minutes later, Morahan got on the end of a briloiant cross kick fro Sheedy to score in the corner. Sheedy missed the conversion.

Bristol thought they had one more but a brilliant try-saving tackle from Taylor stopped Morahan from scoring his second.

That would be the end of a dominant performance from Bristl as they continue this impression campaign
