Premiership Highlights: Bristol Bears Vs Exeter Chiefs

The defending champion Exeter Chiefs ground out a 20-12 away win over the log leading Bristol Bears in round 17 of the Premiership. Bristol struck first with a try after 13 minutes to lead 5-0. Exeter hit back a little over ten minutes later, with a try to level matters at five apiece. A second Exeter try followed around the half hour mark and they kept the scoreboard ticking over with a late first half penalty to take a 15-5 advantage into the halftime break. The first score in the second half was always going to be crucial and it went the way of the Chiefs, as they crossed for try number three 15 minutes in to take control of the match up 20-5. Exeter managed to keep the Bears pinned deep in their own territory for much of the remainder of the game, with the hosts running in a late consolation score as the Chiefs reduced the gap atop the log to eight points.
