Exeter Chiefs battled hard against a desperate but impressive Northampton Saints at Franklin Gardens. Only two points separated them after Northampton blitzed back after two early Exeter tries. Northampton started the second half brilliantly and looked to be in control as they tried to get the all important win. Exeter stayed calm and showed why they are at the top, as they scored late on before closing out the game. This was Northampton Saints sixth loss in a row at Franklin Gardens
