Highlanders deserved winners over the Hurricanes to bring an end to Super Rugby Aotearoa. After a good first half where both teams were tied, the Highlanders came out firing in the second half. They decided to play the Hurricanes at their own game and scored some brilliant tries to put the Hurricanes away. For the away side, it was a game of 'What could've been' as they had three disallowed tries, which would have changed the whole game. However they were lacking that finished product and didn't seem up to their usual standards. It was a sensational game of rugby and a fitting end to a brilliant competition.
