George Konia

Konia started his rugby career representing Manawatu in 57 matches between 1989-1992 and Hawke’s Bay 39 occasions between 1993-1995. Thereafter, in Super Rugby, he played 96 first class matches and seven seasons of representative rugby for the Hurricanes.

Konia also wore the colours for the New Zealand Colts, New Zealand Divisional XV, New Zealand Development XV, New Zealand XV, New Zealand Maori, New Zealand Barbarians, and was also an All Black trialist.

After several years of club rugby in Japan, Konia qualified for the Brave Blossoms, winning a total of 6 caps for them.

He currently occupies himself as the head coach of Northland in the Mitre 10 Cup.
