6 Nations - Who can win it?

In 6 days time we will know who will be crowned the 2019 Six Nations Champions. What we don't know is who and there are 3 teams in the running, Wales, England and Ireland. Wales are looking to to win it in fine style with a Grand Slam while defending Champions, Ireland, will look to snatch the title sitting in 3rd spot ahead of the weekend. England must beat Scotland to take it. Here is exactly what each team needs to win it.

Wales: It is quite simple for Gatland's men, WIN. 

Wales will host Ireland and need a win of any margin to take the Grand Slam. Since the Six Nations implemented the try bonus point rules they made sure that no team would lose the title if they won all their games by giving them a further 3 points to guarantee a number 1 finish.

This means that no matter if Wales earn 4 points with a win over Ireland and England get a bonus point win over Scotland both sides will not finish the weekend on 20 points. Wales will be on 23 and be crowned 2019 Six Nations Champions

* Wales could lose to Ireland and earn 2 bonus points and still win it IF England lose and Ireland don't score a bonus point win, winning by 5 points or less.

* If it is a 6 point win for Ireland, they will win on tries scored for the season and if it is more than 6 points, they will win on points difference. 

England: Jones needs 5 points, 4 will do but...

England need Wales to lose and need 5 points from Scotland to win it outright. If they take 4 points away from Twickenham and Ireland earn a bonus point win leaving both sides on 19 Championship points, England will win due to their points difference.

*Ireland could snatch it if they manage to smash the record books by beating Wales with a points difference of over 64 points

Ireland: Schmidt's side needs Scotland...

Ireland need to win in Wales and take 5 points home with them before putting on their Scotland badges and rooting them on for a win at Twickenham. The bonus point win will put Ireland on 19 points and as England kick off they will be sitting on 15 points. Scotland need to win it for Ireland to earn back to back Six Nations Championships.

* Wales could lose to Ireland and earn 2 bonus points and still win it IF England lose and Ireland don't score a bonus point win, winning by 5 points or less.

* If it is a 6 point win for Ireland, they will win on tries scored for the season and if it is more than 6 points, they will win on points difference.
