Andy Farrell's International Debut

Andy Farrell, current coach of the Ireland national team and father of incumbent England captain Owen, is capped at international level for rugby league and union.

In 2005, Farrell announced his retirement from rugby league and joined up with Saracens in the Premiership. Two years later, at the age of 32, Farrell gained selection to the England starting lineup to take on Scotland at Twickenham in the Six Nations.

Farrell put in a useful shift on his debut, running strongly over the gain line and putting his brilliant distribution skills to good use. He went on to win a total of 8 caps for England.
