Can wounded Sale crack the Quins?

Quins will enjoy some winning momentum when they meet a wounded Sale outfit at the Twickenham Stoop in the first of Round 10’s Saturday fixtures.

Round 9 saw Sale put to the sword by Bath, 27-22, at the AJ Bell – the latter’s second victory of their campaign. Bath were not given much chance before the game in light of their poor run of form of late, but made their intent known from the get-go with a score after only two minutes. Sale recovered and fought back but the rampant Bath were not to be denied.

Quins, meanwhile, posted a good result against Leicester in a thoroughly entertaining match which saw both teams highly competitive despite the difference in score. Sale, who will, of course, be hoping to bounce back this weekend, may have their hands full against Quins at home.

In the minds of both teams will be the result which transpired last time they played. On that occasion, it was Quins who pulled off an upset, beating Sale 16-10 in the first game back after a long hiatus from the Premiership for Covid-19. Sale’s discipline was poor on that outing, allowing Quins to take hold of the game.

With Quins enjoying some winning momentum and Sale hungry to redeem themselves after Round 9, this game could turn into a cracker.
