Cardiff committed a massive smash-and-grab robbery tonight to come away with another Challenge Cup title. A last minute, Gareth Anscombe penalty was enough to get the victory, after Blaine Scully's try a minute earlier.
It was an electrifying encounter with both side's scoring 3 tries each. Gloucester got off to a fantastic start with 2 first half tries, from Henry Trinder and Mark Atkinson. Cardiff hit back early in the 2nd with tries from Tomos Williams and Garyn Smith. James Hanson hot back almost immediately with a try from a lineout maul and it looked like Gloucester were going to be crowned champions once more. That was before Scully and Anscombe's heroics.
