Exeter Chiefs kept their play-off hopes alive with a comfortable 34-12 home win over Castres in round 5 of the Champions Cup. Exeter got off to the perfect start with an early try, but Castres hit back shortly after to level matters at 5-5. Exeter dominated much of the remainder of the first half, running in a further two tries to take a 17-5 lead into the break. Exeter went over for their fourth try early in the second half, but Castres hit back a few minutes later to stay in the game at 24-12. Exeter responded with their fifth score, with Castres picking up a red card at the 58 minute mark to finish the match a player short. It was cruise control thereafter for the Chiefs, who bagged a sixth try to seal an emphatic bonus point victory.
