European Challenge Cup Preview: Pool 5

Gloucester continued their fine form in this years competition defeating Zebre last Sunday and will look to further strengthen their lead as the top of the pool when they travel to Italy this weekend. As for Oyonnax they put themselves back in contention for a place in the knockout stages defeating fellow French side Brive.

Gloucester made it three wins from three in their 35-10 win over Zebre as they stretched their lead at the top of pool 4. Their win gives them 14 points as they hope to make it four from four with a win away to Zebre which would most likely be enough to book a place in the knockout stages. As for Zebre with only four points after three games their hopes of making it through to the knockout stages look to be over. However with The Stade Aprile proving to be a tough place to go Gloucester will know they will be in for a difficult afternoon.

In the other game in the pool Oyonnax will look to defeat Brive for the second time in a week after  defeating them 30-22 in Brive. With Oyonnax now having home advantage another win will be needed in their attempts to make it through to the knockout stages. As for Brive they had a disastrous opening three games with only one point and three defeats and conceded 111 points with only Italian side Rovigo conceding more.
