Halfpenny's Return Pushed Back

Halfpenny's Return Pushed Back

Wales fullback Leigh Halfpenny has been left out of Scarlets' 23 man squad to face Benetton Treviso this weekend which could affect his hopes of playing in Wales' Six Nations' match against England.

The 31-year-old has not played since Wales' victory over Australia in November and had returned to full training this week.

A Welsh Rugby Union statement read: "Although Leigh has returned to full training, it was collectively decided that he should continue training fully with the hope he will be available for selection in the imminent future."

Wales coach Neil Jenkins suggested that Halfpenny's availability to face England next week would depend on his involvement for Scarlets against Benetton.
