Harlequins moved into 6th place and potentially a place in the Challenge Cup, thanks to a good victory over Gloucester at Kingsholm.

Gloucester started poorly as Marcus Smith, who took a personal haul of 13 points, slotted three penalties in a row within the first ten minutes.

Cipriani got Gloucester on the board with their first and only points of the half, thanks to a penalty three minutes later.

Gloucester continued to make poor decision and give away countless penalties.


Harlequins made them pay when Murley scored a break away try after poor kick from Cipriani. Smith added the extras.

Harlequins went down to 14 men after Gray went to the bin for repeated offenses.


Gloucester could not capitalize and despite the extra man, Harlequins scored again through Lewies. Smith missed the conversion.

Harlequins took a commanding lead into half time.

Gloucester needed to score first to have any chance, and they did that through Polledri, who crashed over 5 minutes after the restart. Cipriani added the extras.

Harlequins defended well for the next 15 minutes, depsite Gloucester stepping up the pace.

Despite being on the back foot and under some pressure, Harlequins scored again after Marchant intercepted before putting Steele away. Smith added the easy extras.

Gloucester looked desperate but managed to score again to give themselves a chance for the last 15 minutes. Alemanno crashing over, but Cipriani missed the conversion.

Gloucester thought they had scored again with two minutes to go, but Slater had the ball dislodged.

That was enough for Harlequins as they wrapped up their third victory in a row against Gloucester.
