FT - Saracens 40 Exeter Chiefs 17
A superb second half performance from Saracens saw off a soft Exeter Chiefs side at Allianz Park.
Both teams put ran out weakened teams due to big European matches on the weekend, but that gave opportunities for some fringe players to stake a claim.
The first half was a rather tame affair, with neither team really testing each other. However Saracens opened the scoring after 5 minutes when Segum went over in the corner. Vunipola could not add the extras,
Exeter hit back when debutant Cordero scored in the corner. Hidge also missing the conversion.
The game went a bit flat for the next 20 minutes as both sides battled for territory.
Vunipola added a penalty four minutes before half time, before Morris scored just before halftime to had Saracens the advantage. Vunipola added the extras.
Vunipola opened the scoring in the second half with a penalty.
Exeter needed to respond, which they did when Witty went over from close range. Hodge failed to land the extras again.
From that point, Saracens started to dominate. Vunipola adding another penalty to extend the lead to 11 points.
Obatoyinbo collected a brillant cross kick from Vunipola to score in the corner. Vunipola failed to land the extras.
Saracens confirmed their dominance when then pushed Exters own scrum over their tryline to see Venter score a converted try.
Boon seemed to have wrapped things up with a converted try 3 minutes from time.
Exeter were able to have the last say as Dennis scored in the corner before Skinner added the extras.
