Mitre 10 Cup RD 7 Highlights: Waikato v Taranaki

Play got underway at the Waikato stadium, Smith missed a penalty kick in the 6th minute, but minutes later and Waaka went over to score the first points of the day. Potroz got Taranaki on the board in the 13th minute. Smith extended the lead in the 23rd minute with a penalty kick. Jacobson was sent to the bin for foul play and Kneepkens scored for Taranaki. Both teams showed fighting spirit but Waikato managed to come away with the win.
