Newcastle v Sale Sharks - Top Performers

Tane Takulua

The Tongan scrum-half kicked 17 points to earn a much needed win for the Falcons at St. James' Park. He was a constant threat around the fringes, creating spaces for his runners and also provided a try assist. His partnership in the halves with Toby Flood is a crucial cog in the survival chances of Newcastle.

Mark Wilson

Fresh off a very positive Six Nations period with England, the Newcastle flanker came to the fore with another strong all round display. He delivered another huge shift up front and deserves plenty of credit for his role in the result. Made his mark in defence with 10 tackles and matched that in attack with 7 carries.

Sinoti Sinoti

The hot stepping wing was almost unplayable on the hallowed turf as he made a mockery of the Sale defence and multiple occasions with his deceiving step off either side. He beat seven defenders, created two clean line breaks and ran for a gain of 82 metres. He remains one of the most devastating attackers in the game in a one on one scenario and was correctly awarded with the Man of the Match honours.
