Premiership: Road to the Semi-Finals

Premiership: Road to the Semi-Finals

There are three weeks left in the Premiership and the road to the playoffs is getting ever so close for some of the teams. Let’s take a closer look at how the league currently looks and who is chasing a semi-final spot.

League Table:

Who Is In The Running:

Exeter Chiefs

The Chiefs have picked up 15 wins this season and have secured a home semi-final spot. Exeter has only lost four matches this season, the last being against Wasps, and are currently on 77 points, which is nine points ahead of second place.

Saracens

The Champions Cup finalists are hot on the heels of the Chiefs but will need them to slip up if they are wanting to end top of the log. There is a top of the table clash in gameweek 21 which could make things very interesting should results not favour either side this week. Sarries have won 14 out of their 19 matches and are on 68 points.

Gloucester Rugby

Johan Ackerman’s men are currently on a four-match winning streak and are lying third on the log with 60 points. In the top 4, they are currently the only side to have drawn a match this season but they have picked 12 wins along the way.

Harlequins

The Quins are 10 points behind Gloucester and will need to keep a close eye over there shoulder as there are three teams busy hunting them down. The cannot afford a slip up in the next three weeks or they will be caught.

Chasing The Top 4:

Wasps, Northampton Saints and Bath Rugby

All three side are separated by one point each and can still catch Gloucester and Harlequins if results go their way. Wasps are on 47 points, while the Saints and Bath are on 46 and 45 respectively.
