Six Nations: Expected Ireland team to face Wales
- 2026
Ireland are set to be without Tadhg Furlong for Saturday's Six Nations clash against Wales at the Aviva Stadium as Andrew Porter is in line to receive his first Six Nations start after impressing against Italy in Round 2.
Furlong, a three-Test Lion, pulled his hamstring in the opening minutes of the win over Italy two weeks ago and has not participated in full training since the injury.
Ireland defence coach Andy Farrell reported yesterday that Furlong and Iain Henderson 'hit their markers' on returning to fitness but the Leinster prop took a limited part in the session and will not be risked against Wales.
The Ireland coaching staff will make a late decision on the involvement of Henderson (Hamstring) but there is more positive update on James Ryan, who will return from a hip injury to start in the second-row.
Munster centre Chris Farrell will get the nod to partner Bundee Aki in midfield against Warren Gatland's charges in the only change to the back-line that faced Italy.
