The Waratahs overturned a 14 point deficit, securing a 23-14 home win to deny the Western Force a dream return in round 2 of Super Rugby AU.
The Force opened the scoring with a penalty and a try with ten minutes of the first half to play saw them up 8-0.
The Force kept the scoreboard ticking over with two penalties in quick succession to take them out to a handy 14-0 advantage.
The Waratahs needed a response and hit back with a try on the stroke of halftime to trail 14-7 at the break. Two penalties saw the Waratahs reduce the deficit to just a single point heading into the final quarter. The Waratahs then took the lead for the first time in the match, with their second try making it 20-14.
The hosts were now in control, dominating both territory and possession and a penalty inside the final ten minutes sealed their first victory in the competition.
