Top Performers - Wasps vs Bath

Freddie Burns

It cannot be understated how hard it must have been for the Bath fly-half to come back and take on the kicking duties today, after his shocker in last week’s fixture vs Toulouse. He managed to slot 5 conversions, which turned out to be crucial in the end today as his side came away with the draw. He also ran his backline well, with good distribution around the field, which led to a number of tries. He defended gallantly down the ten channel and should be shown the utmost respect for his performance today in the adversity of the criticism he received during the week.

Thomas Young

The Wasps openside was awarded the MOTM award for his efforts on the field today. His skillset is a real glory to behold and he could seamlessly fit into a number of positions on the field to do a job for his side. He managed to bag a try today to level the game and prevent his side from losing their first home European game of the season. He also made 15 tackles and had a perfect success rate, missing none. Great performance from the Welshman.

Josh Bassett

The Wasps winger was a livewire today, going over for an early try and testing the Bath defence out wide all day. He managed to beat 5 defenders and make 4 clean breaks for a gain of 64 metres. He had a hand in a number of Wasps’ scores and the English side will be happy to see him in such fantastic form after the loss of Christian Wade during the week.
