Old Habits Die Hard - France went down to the All Blacks in their End of Year Tour this past weekend. But in the process, one of the most stunning plays of the game (or the 2017 season) Sonny Bill Williams gifted Les Bleus a penalty try.
Rather than simply catch the ball in the end zone & force a 22m dropout, the 32-year-old leapt up and batted the ball over the dead ball line. The result? A yellow card and a contentious penalty try, letting France back into the Test at the Stade de France.
''He doesn’t know the rules, he’s playing league,'' coach Steve Hansen admitted. ''It’s a good lesson for Sonny next time, to catch it.''
