Wales Squad Update: Williams ruled out for the remainder of the competition

Wales have been hit with another injury with flyhalf Owen Williams sustaining a hamstring injury that will see him miss the remainder of the Six Nations.

Williams was set to feature from the bench for Wales but pulled up during the warm-up ahead of Wales' round two fixture against Ireland at the weekend.

The injury further hampers Wales' flyhalf stocks with Dan Biggar leaving the pitch early against Ireland after picking up an injury in the 44th minute with Jarrod Evans playing the remaining 36 minutes.

Gareth Anscombe and Rhys Patchell already out injured it would leave Wales short of options as they prepare to face France in Cardiff next Saturday.

A Welsh Rugby Union statement on Tuesday afternoon read: “Further assessment has concluded that the injury will rule Williams out of the remainder of Wales’ Guinness Six Nations campaign.”

There was better news, though, about the health of winger Josh Adams, who exited the defeat in Dublin after just 25 minutes for Johnny McNicholl.

The fantastic try-scoring winger picked up a knock in the first half and tried to run it off before he was removed. The WRU have reported that Adams will be back in full training this week.
